This year’s conference will put the spotlight on Prevention and Early Intervention, exploring the critical role Intelligence plays in keeping people safe.

Policing is operating in a time of global change and uncertainty, the public and our staff need a service which is responsive and able to tackle future challenges. Intelligence is critical and will help us meet the demands of the next 20 years. It runs through all aspects of policing and should be the foundation of Prevention and Early Intervention.

Intelligence has a significant role to play in our relentless pursuit of offenders, to reduce offending and reduce the harm to individuals and communities. The aim of preventative policing is fewer victims, fewer offences, and less demand on policing and partners, achieved by addressing underlying causes and using partnership oriented problem solving.

The National Police Chiefs Council Annual Intelligence Conference will take place on the 5th – 6th June 2023 at the Leonardo Hotel, Hinckley Island. Building upon the huge success of last year’s event, we will be celebrating the exceptional work of Intelligence Professionals, with our second National Intelligence Award Ceremony.

The conference will bring together inspirational, subject matter experts, across all tiers of the Intelligence Community. The event aims to share best practise and learning, ensuring we can all make the greatest impact to protect and serve the public. In order to strengthen partnership collaboration, this event is open to all UK Law enforcement and Government agencies, strategic leads, managers, and practitioners.
